Incident Description
Enabling and configuring TSM email functions
Resolution
There are two ways to email out of TSM, the first is to use TSM’s inbuilt email client, the other is to use a third party application, such as Microsoft Outlook.
There are pros and cons for both options, listed below.
TSM’s Inbuilt Mail Client
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Already installed. Simple. | Sent mail is not archived. |
Third Party Mail Client
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Emails can be sent from ‘Personal’ email addresses. | Need to install mail client on every machine which will use email. |
Emails are archived in the email client’s outbox. | Mail client needs to be open and ‘sending’ before emails are sent. |

2) Select the Miscellaneous tab
3) Set the option under Email Settings titled TSM Email client to ‘TSM Email’
