Assignments not displaying on the Visual Scheduler

Incident Description

One of the most common support requests we receive relates to Assignments not being visible in the Calendar, even though they have been entered correctly. This is often worded in terms such as “My jobs are not displaying”, which is not using the correct nomenclature, as the Assignment Scheduler displays not jobs, but assignments, which may or may not be attached to jobs, with the former being the prevailing case. The usual explanation, meanwhile is that the Calendar has been filtered to exclude the Assignment you are looking for.

Resolution
You are able to check these filters by looking at the Visual Schedule screen, in the bottom right hand corner.

Below is an example how this section should look to display all the assignment information:



Note that the tickboxes to include completed Jobs and Assignments are ticked, and that the Dept, Status, Job Type and Location filters are cleared.

It is also worth remembering that if an Employee’s name is ticked, you will only see Assignments for that Employee. Note, also that assignments marked as “Private” on the assignments module will not display for users other than the one that created it.

These settings are stored for each TSM User, and it would be erroneous to assume that what one user sees is the same as for another.
