Incident Description
TSM needs to be setup on a new workstation on the network, or re-applied.
Resolution
The TSM workstation install needs to be run on any computer you wish to use to access TSM. From time to time, the workstation install may need to be re-run on a computer for various IT reasons, or as a result of a version updated of TSM. Not all version updates require the Workstation installation to be run again.
1. Go to this link: http://www.theservicemanager.com/tsmdl/
2. The TSM Products Download page will be displayed. Here you will find the upgrade file, as well as the Workstation Installation utility. There are several documentation files available, as well as the MYOB Post version update.
3. Select the correct link in the list for the relevant version of your TSM.
Note: Check the version number of your TSM on the top of your TSM window(normally tsm685).
4. Click and download tspronet.exe.
5. If your Internet Browser has certain security options enabled, the download popup may be blocked initially. For instance Internet Explorer may display the following bar at the top of the page:
If this is the case, click on the bar and select “Download File.”
6. The download interface varies between browsers. You need to ensure that you SAVE the file to the hard drive (do not click RUN directly from the browser). It is best to store it in a shared location that is accessible to all users on your network.
7. Go to the directory tspronet.exe is downloaded and then right click, then run as administrator.
8. The installation wizard will appear. Read the instructions and press “Next.”
9. Read and accept the License Agreement, select “I Accept…” and press next.
10. Enter the location of the TSM directory
11. You can select the location in the Windows Start/Programs Menu where you want the TSM icon to appear. To do this Click “Browse” and select the desired location. Otherwise click “Next.”
12. If you do not already have a desktop shortcut icon for TSM, you can have one created for you automatically using this option. Press “Next.“
13. Note the Installation details and press “Install.”
14. A progress bar will be displayed as the wizard updates and registers your files on the server. Press “Finish” on the final screen.
