Click on Backup/Restore under Utilities on the top menu bar of TSM.
*A back up of TSM is suggested at least once per week. *Users need to log out of TSM when a backup is performed.

Click the … button to select the directory in which to create the backup file. Leaving this blank will create the backup in the current TSM directory.
Backup File name will be: TSM_COMPNAYNAME_YYYYMMDD.zip, where COMPNAYNAME = your company name, YYYY = Year, MM = Month and DD = Day of the Month. This will allow you to create a separate backup for each date the backup is run.

Use the Restore tab of the Backup/Restore Utility to restore your TSM data from a previous backup.
Note: This will overwite all existing TSM data.

Click this to begin the restore process. After the data is restored, a check of the data will be done and the files will be reindexed.
Use the Send to Support tab of the Backup/Restore Utility to send your TSM backup to TSM Support.

Enter a reference to assist TSM with identifying your back file, eg your company name.

Click this to begin sending your backup file.
Try to upload the backup from a local drive instead of a network drive, if it takes a long time or error occurs.
When it says “TSM Backup sent successfully”, the data has been sent to TSM support. It will take about 1 hour for data transition, before the backup is accessible by TSM Support technicians.

Selecting this option will take you to the TransferBigFiles web site. This is an alternative method of sending your file to TSM.
