Update Product Prices

Update Product Prices Module Screen

Use this page to automatically update the cost and sell prices of your inventory.

You can identify which items you wish to update by entering a Product Code range, a specific Product Type, Price Code, Make and/or Supplier.

Once you have defined your filter options, choose what prices you want to update, which may be the fixed Cost Price or one of the five Sell Prices or one of the five Markups.

Then enter the amount to update by; a positive value to increase and a negative value to decrease.

Finally, choose the type of calculation to perform which might include:

  • A percentage markup
  • A dollar value
  • Assign the selected percentage to the markup percent filed in the Product Maintenance screen.
  • Clear Price resets the price to zero.

When you are satisfied that you have specified the correct settings, press and TSM will update your cost/sell prices.

Example: You wish to increase the fixed cost of all ACME products by 5 percent. Enter ACME in the Preferred Supplier field and select the Cost Price as the value to change. Enter 5 as the quantity and select the % indicator. Now when you click the Update button, the cost of all items with ACME as the preferred supplier will be increased by 5 percent. Additionally, the sell price will automatically be recalculated for any of these items that have a mark-up entered.

Note: This utility is very powerful. If you do not specify a Product ID, Type, Manufacturer or Preferred Supplier, the update will apply to all the products in the database.
