Cost Centres
Cost Centres
When estimating a Contract Job, you need to break up each stage and variation into Cost Centres. The Cost Centre outlines the dissection of the financial details of the stage or variation into labour, materials or whatever you want to assign.
To add a new cost centre, click on the New button on the top toolbar and select the specific Cost Centre Name and Description from the Dropdown menu. The name and description are created in Codes Setup. Note: When adding parts or timesheets to a stage, if you do not specify a Cost Centre, Cost Centres called 'Materials' and 'Labour' will be automatically created and used.
Information required for each Cost Centre includes:
Cost Centre |

The Cost Centre that the cost is assigned to. Cost Centres include Materials, Labour , Sub Contractors and anything else relevant to your business.
Estimated Cost |
---|
The estimated cost that you want to apply to the Cost Centre. This is compared to the actual cost of parts and labour to determine the % Completed of the stage.
Markup % |
---|
You can automatically calculate the quoted price by entering a markup % on the cost price. This percentage is not stored, it is just used for calculation purposes..

---|
The Price you are quoting to your contact for.
Variation |
---|
Apply this Cost Centre to a Variation.
Actual Cost |
---|
The actual cost accumulated against this Cost Centre from parts and labour assigned.
Approved Variation |
---|
The total Quoted Sell Price of approved variations assigned to this Cost Centre.
