General

Memo Field Font

You can select the font to use for memo fields. For example, it might be useful to set the font to a non-proportional font if you wanted to lie up the text into columns.

Default Postcode State

TSM does automatic Postcode look-ups against Suburbs within Australia. This means that whenever you fill in any Suburb field, the linked Postcode field will get the Postcode of that Suburb.

However, there may be Suburb names that exist in more than one State. Entering the default Postcode State in this field will restrict the Postcode look-up to the selected state only. Use this if the majority of contacts you will be entering into Contact Maintenance are for one state only.

Default General Printer Name

TSM can send different reports to selected printers. Set the default printer here that all TSM printed outputs will go to by default. Leave this blank if you want reports to go to your Windows default printer.

Pressing the Select button will bring up the windows Printer dialog.

Select the printer you want and press OK.

TSM Logo

When TSM starts up, the background screen can display a logo. You select a logo file to display by entering it into the logo file name. The default logo is TSMBACK.JPG. You can select your own logo by entering the name of the log file here (.BMP, .GIF, .JPEG, .ICO) or you can turn the background off by leaving the file name blank.

Hint: Leaving the background logo blank can significantly reduce screen redraw times when using TSM on Microsoft Windows Terminal Server or Citrix where screen display time is longer than usual.

Search Screen Input Delay (seconds)

This is the amount of time, in seconds after entering text to search for in a search window before TSM looks up the value entered and redraws the search screen.

Setting too low a value will cause TSM to annoyingly redraw too quickly before you have had time to type your search text.

Setting too high a value will cause you to wait unnecessarily before the search occurs.

Automatically Update Code Table

TSM uses a series of System Codes to let you choose everything from Job Type, Department, Contact Type or many others.

Let’s say that you do not want to use a particular code again. In this case, you could delete it from the relevant code table. But what happens when you look at an old Job Card or any other old information that has the code you deleted on it.

Setting this option will automatically re-add the code value into the code table whenever you look at an old code that no longer exists.

Confirm deletions

If enabled, you will need to confirm deletions by typing the word YES.

This is used for main items such as jobs, purchase orders etc.

Keep PDF Email Attachments

TSM has the ability to archive emailed PDF attachments. Any emails sent against Jobs, Invoices or Purchase Orders are kept in a special directory and visible either via the Documents Tab if there is one or in the TSM directory.

TSM creates a new subdirectory called PDFARCHIVE under your TSM directory. Under this directory, additional subdirectories are created for jobs, invoices and purchase orders. Each directory will be prefixed with J_ for jobs, I_ for invoices and O_ for orders and then have the respective job, invoice or PO numbers.

For example, Job 60270 would have a directory called PDFARCHIVE\J_60270 created and all emailed attachments linked to job 60270 would be stored here.

Any files found in these subdirectories will automatically link to their respective linked documents tab.

Use TSM’s PDF Viewer

Ticking this option will result in PDF documents being opened using the PDF viewer TSM ships with. They will appear in a window embedded in the TSM environment. Acrobat reader will be used otherwise, opening outside of TSM and needs to be installed on your machine for this option to work.

Send emails as PDF Attachments

Should emails such as Job Cards / Purchase Orders be sent as PDF attachments or plain text.

Resize Text when resizing forms

The text on TSM forms stays small when they are enlarged.

Hint: This option is useful if one wants the Job centre to display more jobs on the page.

Unique path for each user

In order for TSM to work properly, TSM must place user specific files in their own special directory. Enter a computer path to a directory that each user has private access to. Include %USER%, for TSM user name %LOGIN% for network login name.

For example, you could set the unique path to “C:\”. By default. TSM will use the path USERS\%USER%

Increase Screen Height

In some foreign language version of windows, screens could appear shortened, chopping off the bottom of screens.

Enter a percentage here to increase the screen height by to compensate for this difference.

Set taskbar width (95 - 150)

You can adjust the width of the TSM Task Bar. The values you can set are between 95 – 150 pixels wide.

Faxing

You can automatically fax any printed document or report directly from TSM. Currently, WinFax Pro is supported and has been successfully tested with WinFax Pro version 10. MS Fax settings are also available, but are not supported. Select Disabled if you do not have WinFax Pro or MS Fax installed.

If you select WinFax Pro as your faxing solution, you must select the Fax Printer that WinFax Pro installed on your workstation.

Hint: We recommend that you use the fax printer functionality instead of these settings. When printing a report in TSM, instead of selecting “Fax” tick “Select Printer” and select the fax printer option from the resulting window.

Memo Field Stamping

TSM will automatically date, time and user stamp various memo fields in TSM whenever you click into them.

This section is divided into two parts. The left hand side allows you to select the type of stamp that you want to use on a job card, which may be a date stamp, a time stamp or a user stamp as described below. The right hand side allows you to choose which fields the stamp affects.

For example, checking Date & Time Stamp, Service Requested and Work Performed options will put the current date and time in the Service Requested and Work Performed fields on the Job Card.

Region

TSM has the ability to localise various factors based on the Region you select. For example, Australia would use Post Code whereas USA would use ZIP.

Language

TSM has the ability to run in various languages irrespective of region. Select the language you want TSM to work in from the list of available languages (Not available in all countries).

Date Format

Select the Date Format you want TSM to use. Select from dd/mm/yyyy OR mm/dd/yyyy.

Currency symbol

Select the symbol you want TSM to use for currency for example $, English Pound symbol. Euro or any other currency symbol you wish.

Default General Tax Code / Rate

The default Tax code that TSM will use throughout. For example, set to GST for Australian tax.

Default Tax Label

The tax label TSM will use to identify tax within TSM. In Australia, this defaults to GST.

Default Labour Tax Code / Rate

The default Tax code that TSM will use for time sheets. Leave blank to use the Default General tax code. This is useful if for example, labour is generally tax free but you charge tax on parts.

Default Parts Tax Code / Rate

The default Tax code that TSM will use for parts used. Leave blank to use the Default General tax code.

Default Purchase Tax Code

The default Tax code that TSM will use for purchase order items. Leave blank to use the Default General tax code.

This option is for compatibility with reports written in TSM v 6.5 or earlier.
